The Association of Kootenay Boundary Local Governments (AKBLG) April 26 awarded Fairmont Hot Springs resident Wendy Booth with a life membership.

Former Regional District of East Kootenay Electoral Area F Director for 10 years, Booth was also a long-time member of the AKBLG and was president of the Union of BC Municipalities (UBCM) last year.

“Great to be recognized for my work with local governments; very humbled and surprised to receive this award,” Booth said.

“Wendy was President of UBCM last year, is a UBCM life member, and a great example to me,” said City of Kamloops Coun. Arjun Singh.

Booth received the award during the AKBLG’s annual general meeting and convention, held in the City of Castlegar April 26-28.
