Wildfire reported south of Whitetail Lake
The BC Wildfire Service is reporting a second wildfire in the East Kootenay.
There is an estimated .30-hectare fire off the Findlay-Whitetail Forest Service Road, about three kilometres south of Whitetail Lake, west of Canal Flats.
The suspected cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
Another fire discovered July 30, near Wickman Creek, about 40 km southeast of Cranbrook, is listed as “under control” at about .04 ha. The fire is believed to be person-caused.
