2021 Bike to School Challenges begin May 31

GoByBike Cranbrook Week May 31 – June 5

The Rotary Club of Cranbrook Sunrise is pleased to announce the Cranbrook Bike to School Challenges for the spring 2021 GoByBike Cranbrook Week cycling from May 31 to June 3.

“Let’s fill up all the schools’ bike racks in town,” enthused Club President Lynnette Wray. “We cannot wait to see all the students travelling throughout our community on their bicycles.”

The third annual Elementary Bike to School Challenge sees Kootenay Orchards School as the two-time defending champion. Can they be K.O.’d this year by another worthy adversary?

The Cranbrook Sunrise Rotary Club is also excited to announce the introduction of the Cranbrook High & Middle “Bike to School” Challenge. Mount Baker Secondary School and Laurie and Parkland Middle Schools will compete for the inaugural title.

CRANBROOK ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS

The 2021 Cranbrook Elementary Schools Bike to School Challenge starts in just a few days!

We eagerly anticipate a record number of young students riding their bikes to school during GoByBike Cranbrook Week from Monday, May 31to Thursday, June 3.

FREE BIKE BELLS

East Kootenay Community Credit Union has generously donated bicycle bells to the 10 Cranbrook Elementary Schools for GoByBike Cranbrook Week prizes. While quantities last, students who ride their bikes to school will receive a bell.

WIN a BIKE

All Cranbrook Elementary School Students who ride their bikes to school during GoByBike Cranbrook Week (May 31-June 3) are eligible to enter the draw for a bicycle courtesy of Gerick Sports! When a young student arrives at school they will lock up their bike, and then receive an entry ballot to complete to try to win the bike. If a student rides all four days to school during GoByBike Cranbrook Week they will have four entries to win the bicycle!

The draw for the Gerick’s bicycle will take place at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 5 at the Cranbrook Farmers Market.

CRANBROOK HIGH & MIDDLE SCHOOLS

The 2021 Cranbrook High & Middle Schools Bike to School Challenge also begins on Monday, May 31 and runs to Thursday, June 3.

FREE BIKE BELLS

Gerick Sports has donated 50 bicycle bell coupons each to Mount Baker Secondary School and Laurie and Parkland Middle Schools. The first 50 Students at each school who ride their bikes to school during GoByBike Cranbrook Week will receive the coupon to be redeemed at Gerick Sports.

WIN a BIKE

All Cranbrook high and middle school students who ride their bikes to school during GoByBike Cranbrook Week (May 31-June 3) are eligible to enter the draw for a bicycle courtesy of Northstar Bicycle Co.! After the student cyclist arrives at school and locks up their bike, they will receive an entry ballot to complete and drop it into the ballot box. If they ride all four days to school during GoByBike Week they will have four entries to win the bicycle!

The draw for the Northstar Bicycle will take place at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 5 at the Cranbrook Farmers Market.
