About 1,000 attend trucker support rally in Cranbrook
An estimated 1,000 people along with plenty of honking horns took over downtown Cranbrook and Rotary Park Jan. 29, taking part in the “Freedom Convoy Support Rally.”
The rally included a series of speeches protesting vaccine mandates, which initiated the trucker convoy that arrived from the west and east in Ottawa Jan. 29.
Kootenay-Columbia MP Rob Morrison attended the local rally and later stated on social media: “Love above all was the message from the thousand folks who participated in today’s peaceful gathering in Cranbrook in support of Canada’s truckers. It was an honour to join them.”
Following the rally in Rotary Park, trucks and other vehicles, bearing placards, flags and signage formed a long line up Cranbrook Street.
