CDCF accepting grant applications for 2017
In celebration of Canada’s 150th the CDCF has partnered with Community Foundations of Canada to increase local granting opportunities
The Cranbrook and District Community Foundation (CDCF) invites charitable organizations in Cranbrook and area to apply for a 2017 grant. The CDCF takes a broad and inclusive view of what a community is and provides grants to the widest possible range of organizations and initiatives in the areas of: Arts, Culture and Heritage; Education; Physical Activity and Sports; Environment; Social and Health Services; Programs for Seniors.
This year, in celebration of Canada’s 150th anniversary, the CDCF is collaborating with Community Foundations of Canada on its Community Fund for Canada’s 150th to increase local granting opportunities.
“The Community Fund for Canada’s 150th provides the CDCF with access to matching funding to make more grants to organizations within our community,” said Dave Struthers, CDCF President. “Canada’s 150th Fund will distribute small grants through the CDCF to locally-led projects that build community, inspire a deeper understanding of Canada, and encourage participation in a wide range of initiatives that mark Canada’s 150th. It’s important to note that applications that may not meet all the criteria for CFC 150 matching funds may still be eligible for regular CDCF granting.”
All registered charities operating within Cranbrook and area are eligible to apply. Community groups and individuals are encouraged to work with a qualified donee to make an application to the Fund as well.
All 2017 CDCF grant applications will be received through the Community Fund for Canada’s 150th granting platform. Applicants will be directed to register an account before beginning the application process.
The deadline for submitting applications is March 10. Applications will be reviewed by the CDCF Grant Making Committee, which evaluates all eligible applications and provides granting recommendations to the CDCF Board of Directors. Final decisions regarding granting will be provided to all applicants by May 1.
