CFUW Cranbrook Club hosting 32nd Artisan Bazaar

With promises of an early winter, CFUW Cranbrook Club is pleased to announce they are hosting their 32nd annual Christmas Artisan Bazaar on Saturday, October 29.

As in the past, the bazaar is located in the beautiful setting of the Cranbrook Golf Course Clubhouse.

Doors open at 10 a.m. sharp and close at 4 p.m. Your entry fee of a toonie gives you a door prize ballot with the chance to win a gift generously created and donated by the crafters. Draws start at noon and finish at 4 p.m. The winner of each prize does not have to be present.

All creations are handmade by the crafter, be it mustard, or a watercolour painting… and all crafters are from the East Kootenay: Creston to Elkford, Invermere to Golden.

Money raised by the club stays in the East Kootenay and helps the club sponsor several scholarships and bursaries at the Collage of the Rockies and at Mount Baker Secondary School.

“We spread our funds around as much as we can to support East Kootenay Poverty Initiatives, the E.K. Science Fair, lunch programs, breakfast clubs, local charities above and beyond the COTR and Mount Baker scholarships and bursaries,” said chair of the Artisan Bazaar, Cathryn Henley. “In the last 34 years the club has been in existence, we have been very active in our community helping where we can as long as it follows our mission statement,” she added. “No locally raised funds leave the East Kootenay.”

“We are proud of the type of crafters we feature at our bazaar and the creativeness found in each and every one of their products,” said Henley. “We have paper crafts, fine and funky jewelry, mustards, spices, fine knitting, Native moccasins with leather bottoms, sewing creations, home décor, ornaments, organic skin products, home baking, water colour art, stained glass, recycled products, chocolate, quilting, hair accessories, the CDAC calendars and much more. The club is also selling Café Feminino this year in the 1.5 pound gift packs and in one pound bags.”

Please mark your calendars for Saturday, October 29 at the Cranbrook Golf Course on 2nd Street South in Cranbrook for a lovely shopping experience. Please bring cash and a shopping bag.
