Church hosting May 6 drive for Cranbrook Food Bank
As you may have heard, demand for our services has increased dramatically. Food Banks across Canada are seeing the same increase. Consequently, The Cranbrook Food Bank has recently lost significant support from larger food banks (most notably Calgary) in food share donations as they must focus on their community’s needs.
The LDS church organized a city-wide food drive for us on May 6, which couldn’t have come at a better time, as our warehouse looks pretty bare.
If you can help, all you need to do is put your food donations on your front step by 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 6. Someone will pick them up and bring them to us to distribute directly to people in need.
If you don’t reside in the City of Cranbrook and would still like to participate, there will be a few drop-off locations in the surrounding areas (the road to Jim Smith, the apartment complex by Elizabeth Lake, and the Gold Creek area).
Thank you, Cranbrook, for helping us make sure everyone in our community has enough to eat.
