Cops ‘raid’ chamber meeting for charity

Galen Olstead gets shackled by Cst. Parker.

Cranbrook and Kimberley RCMP officers Sept. 19 conducted a ‘raid’ on the Cranbrook Chamber of Commerce’s September luncheon at the Heritage Inn and ‘arrested’ four local men.

Among those ‘arrested’ were reigning Citizen of the Year Mike Adams, City of Cranbrook Coun. Mike Peabody, recently retired Cranbrook Fire and Emergency Services Chief (and candidate for the Oct. 20 city council election) Wayne Price and Key City Theatre manager Galen Olstead.

Their crime(s)? The luck of being selected for stints behind bars (along with other city characters) in the Cranbrook Jail and Bail held later that day at Tamarack Centre, part of the Cops for Kids Charitable Foundation.

The annual event raised $12,871.
