Cranbrook donors tops in the Kootenays
Cranbrook area residents have proven their generosity with big support for the Canadian Red Cross.
People generously donated more than $29,000 through the Cranbrook office in 2016-17, beating offices in other parts of the Kootenays.
These donations will help volunteers continue providing health equipment such as wheelchairs, walkers, crutches, and bath aids to community members recovering from injury or surgery, or spending their final days at home with family.
Some of the money will also help people in the Fort McMurray area recover from last year’s Alberta wildfires.
The Canadian Red Cross would like to thank the Cranbrook-area community for their outstanding support, and will recognize its Cranbrook volunteer team with a special plaque. The ceremony will celebrate their top fundraising spot and thank donors for helping them surpass their goal of $12,000.
The Red Cross is making a plaque presentation tomorrow, Sept. 27, at 11:30 a.m. at Rockwater Steakhouse, 300 Cranbrook St. N.
