Cranbrook Farmers’ Market rolls again

About the only sign that summer has arrived that is missing is actual summer weather.

No matter. It is farmers’ market season once again. That is always a strong sign that summer is here.

The Cranbrook Farmers’ Market opened for the summer last Saturday, June 23, on 10th Ave. S, next to Rotary Park. As usual, it offered a heady array of tempting treats, art and crafts, organic produce and fruits and more.

There are two ‘seasons’ for Cranbrook’s market this year, beginning with the Summer Season, which runs from June 23 to Sept. 1, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. There is also a Fall Season, running from Sept. 8 to Oct. 6, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Additionally, there will be four Wednesday evening markets on July 11, 25, and August 8 and 22, in Rotary Park, from 5 to 8:30 p.m.

Also new this year is free bus rides to the market courtesy of the City of Cranbrook.

The free ride comes with a catch: each passenger must be carrying a reusable or recycled bag, be traveling to and from downtown Cranbrook and indicate to the bus driver that they are going to the Farmers’ Market.
