Cranbrook Legion Poppy Campaign needs help
Did you know that per capita, the Cranbrook Legion has one of the most successful Poppy Campaigns in the province? Did you know that as well as Cranbrook, our branch also looks after Kimberley and Jaffray with poppies and wreaths?
“When asked by Command what we attributed our success to we respond that the support from our community was amazing. We said the business community support is second to none and the citizens are beyond generous and supportive,” said Debi Hart, Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 24 Secretary/Manager.
Every year there is an increase in attendance at the Remembrance Day Ceremonies. The money raised from the Poppy campaign is used to assist veterans and their families.
Each year they are able to make generous donations to the East Kootenay Foundation for Health and Angel Flight East Kootanay from the Poppy money raised. These organizations benefit everyone in the East Kootenay.
Sadly this year, the Legion is without a home to run the Poppy campaign from.
They are looking for a donated space, hopefully in the downtown core, 1,500 – 2,000 sq.ft.
