Cranbrook Lions boost Turkey Drive coffers
The Cranbrook Lions Club once again supports the annual Chamber of Commerce Turkey Drive put on to support the Salvation Army and the Cranbrook Food Bank.
The chamber hopes to meet their goal of $65,000 raised to ensure that those in need can benefit from a Christmas hamper. On December 8 the club showed up at the chamber offices to present the big cheque for $3,000.
“We invite the community to join us,” said Lions Club president Curtis Bell, “and get behind this noble effort to spread a little Christmas cheer.”
He went on to say that although we seem to be concentrating of the Christmas theme, we should all remember that the work of addressing food insecurity is a year-round struggle.
Donations can be made at the chamber office, The Salvation Army or the Cranbrook Food Bank.
