Cranbrook RCMP Report
The following is a synopsis of calls received by Cranbrook RCMP for the week (from 6 a.m.) June 25 to 6 a.m., July 2.
Police handled 178 calls for service throughout this week.
Among the calls police handled…
One impaired driving: (alcohol).
Five collisions in the city including: four with minor injuries; one was road rage related; and one collision resulted with a driver fleeing on foot, leaving a passenger (the investigation is still ongoing).
22 driving complaints: Seven in the city and 15 were highway/ rural.
One hit and run: Two parked vehicles damaged.
Seven assaults: Three domestic assaults where charges have been laid, including an incident with a knife causing injury and an incident where the victim was injured and forcibly confined. One was a mutual fight between parties known to each other.
10 Mental Health Act related calls: Eight apprehensions and four assistance to East Kootenay Regional Hospital.
18 thefts: including four shoplifting; theft of an auto; one attempt and one theft of Honda ATV; one take auto without owner’s consent; four thefts from auto; two vehicles and a shed rummaged through; a travel trailer and vehicle accessed and property stolen; unlocked vehicles accessed and cash taken, vehicle accessed; and insurance papers stolen.
One theft other: Theft of Tablet from a taxi (recovered).
One theft bicycle: (recovered).
One break and enter other: An abandoned building was entered.
Three damage to property: Two involving damage to vehicles.
Two drug seizures: marijuana.
13 false alarms and false 911 calls.
