Cranbrook RCMP Report
The following is a synopsis of calls received by Cranbrook RCMP for the week (from 6 a.m.) August 1 to 6 a.m., August 8.
The detachment received 169 calls for service throughout that period.
Among the calls police handled…
Eight impaired drivers: six alcohol / two marijuana.
Four collisions: One collision where a deer was struck; 2 minor collisions and one involved an impaired driver (earlier release sent our re: driver crashing into a BC Hydro box at Western Financial Place.)
One hit and run incident: Suspect vehicle identified by witness, Motor Vehicle Act charges forthcoming.
11 Mental Health Act calls; five apprehended.
Eight assault complaints: one domestic in nature.
Five thefts reported: One theft from a motor vehicle where taillights were stolen; one bicycle stolen from open yard; theft of keys from a local establishment; theft of cash from a residence; one shoplifting incident where items recovered by police.
One break and enter to a rural residence reported: Investigation identified two suspects; one has been arrested and held in custody. More details will follow once the investigation is complete.
Two reports of property damage: a vehicle was egged and residential window was broken.
Six drug seizures– marijuana and cocaine.
15 false alarm/ false 9-1-1 complaints.
