Cranbrook RCMP Report
The following is a synopsis of calls received by Cranbrook RCMP for the week (from 6 a.m.) Oct. 3 to 6 a.m., Oct. 10.
The detachment received 160 calls for service throughout that period.
Among the calls police handled…
One impaired driver – alcohol.
Seven collisions – two in town, drivers charged in both of the accidents; four collisions outside of town involved a deer or elk…one was between two vehicles where a driver was charged under the Motor Vehicle Act.
Two hit and run incidents.
11 Mental Health Act calls – eight apprehended.
Four assault complaints: one domestic in nature/ charges forthcoming in two incidents.
Seven thefts reported: one shoplifting; one theft from vehicle; and one theft of a motorcycle – motorcycle recovered nearby where it was stolen from. Still under investigation. Other thefts included a teeter totter from Kootenay Christian Academy, and a wallet and cell phone from a department store.
One Break and Enters to a local business on Cobham Ave W where culprits broke into the compound and stole a 1994 Ford F150 without a box. Colour is green with a white stripe around it. No plate associated.
One report of property damage: occurred outside of town and was a dispute between hunters resulting in a vehicle being damaged. One of the parties was arrested and later released on conditions.
Three drug seizures: marijuana/ methamphetamine.
20 false alarms/ false 911 complaints.
Four persons arrested for intoxication in public place
