Cranbrook RCMP Report
The following is a synopsis of calls received by Cranbrook RCMP for the week (from 6 a.m.) Oct. 24 to 6 a.m., Oct. 31.
Police handled 183 calls for service throughout this week.
Among the calls police handled…
One impaired driver – alcohol.
Eight collisions – seven in town and one outside of town. The only major accident was the one involving a pedestrian that we are still investigating.
Three hit and run incidents.
10 Mental Health Act calls – four apprehended.
Five assault complaints: one domestic related incident; one incident was false; one incident was at a local establishment where a male took a beer bottle to another male’s head; suspect was arrested in that incident.
11 thefts reported: three shoplifting; three thefts of vehicles – all vehicles stolen from Cranbrook and located outside of area; four thefts from vehicle – two vehicles unlocked, keys/ clothing, knife, camping stereo taken; one other theft that ended up being unfounded
Two break and enters to residences: One was an attempt/ one where a door was kicked in but nothing stolen.
Three reports of property damage.
Two drug seizures – cocaine/ ecstasy.
17 false alarms/ false 911 complaints.
Seven persons arrested for intoxication in public place.
