Cranbrook RCMP Report
The following is a synopsis of calls received by Cranbrook RCMP for the week (from 6 a.m.) May 2 to 6 a.m., May 8.
Police handled 138 calls for service throughout this week.
Among the calls police handled…
Two collisions – both outside of town involving elk, no injuries.
Nine Mental Health Act calls – none apprehended / one assist East Kootenay Regional Hospital.
Seven assault complaints: two domestic in nature where one person wass arrested in each event. Five other assault complaints; a person was arrested in two of the five incidents. No serious injuries.
10 thefts reported: two shoplifting; four thefts from motor vehicle – LED lights/ license plate/ fishing gear/ wallet from unlocked vehicle; three other thefts including a theft of blue pelican kayak from JimSmith Lake area/ tablet stolen from apartment/ cash from grocery store; one report of bike theft.
One break and enters to businesses: one male was has been arrested and charged.
Three reports of property damage: a house vandalized/ vehicle vandalized/ shed at skate park vandalized.
14 false alarms/ false 911 complaints.
