Cranbrook RCMP Report
The following is a synopsis of calls received by Cranbrook RCMP for the week (from 6 a.m.) Jan. 29 to 6 a.m., Feb. 5.
Police handled 122 calls for service throughout this week.
Among the calls police handled…
Two impaired driving: alcohol.
One collision in the city: (very minor in nature).
Nine collisions outside the city: road conditions varied throughout the week.
One hit and run: occurred in a parking lot; very minor damage.
Four assaults: One domestic report/ two familial fights/ one assault of a Peace Officer during an arrest where no injuries were sustained.
14 Mental Health Act related Calls: three apprehensions/three assist East Kootenay Regional Hospital.
11 thefts.
Four shoplifting.
Four thefts from auto, including an old vehicle on a property that was rummaged through but nothing taken/ a license plate stolen or lost/ loose change taken from insecure vehicle/ and males trying vehicle doors but not located.
Two thefts of Auto: A vehicle was taken but located parked around the corner from the victim’s residence; another report was unfounded.
Two thefts other: one unfounded and one where cash was stolen from a residence.
One break and enter to business: the suspect was caught.
Five damage to property: including damage to two vehicles/ objects thrown at a business/ sign vandalized/ fight resulted in broken door.
One drug seizure.
Eight false alarms and false 911 calls.
