Cranbrook RCMP Report
The following is a synopsis of calls received by Cranbrook RCMP for the week (from 6 a.m.) March 19 to 6 a.m., March 26.
Police handled 125 calls for service throughout this week.
Among the calls police handled…
Three impaired driving: (alcohol).
Two collisions in the city: high value damage in both incidents/ minor injury in one.
Five collisions outside the city: including a vehicle hitting a deer; all other incidents were during the snow storm on March 24 where highway conditions were very poor.
Two assaults: (parties known to each other in one minor incident; and a male stabbed another male … injuries not life threatening, male in custody awaiting court (more on that coming).
Eight Mental Health Act related calls: three apprehensions; two assist East Kootenay Regional Hospital.
Nine thefts.
Four shoplifting.
Three theft from auto: ( sunglasses, watch, cash and other vehicles gone through. Vehicles were unlocked. Electric guitar was taken but recovered later in the area where thefts occurred.)
Two theft other: (theft of meat from freezer on a residence deck/ theft of game system, which was recovered and returned to owner by police).
Two break and enter other: A B&E to a shop were several beer taken and matter still being investigated by police and one B&E occurred over a month ago with several tools taken from shop.
Three damage to property: (tire slashed/ mischief to residence door/ spray painting at a school).
One drug seizure.
13 false alarms and false 911 calls.
