Cranbrook seeks volunteers for Advisory Committees
The City of Cranbrook is inviting residents to play an active role in their community by applying to serve on one of the city’s advisory committees in 2026.
Serving on a committee is a rewarding way to get involved and share your expertise.
Membership is open to all residents of the City of Cranbrook. Current opportunities include:
Advisory Planning Commission
Provides advice to council on land use, community planning, proposed bylaws, and development permits. Three positions available.
Board of Variance
An independent body under the Local Government Act that considers requests for minor variances to the city’s Zoning Bylaw when compliance would cause undue hardship related to site conditions. One position is available.
Cranbrook Public Library Board
Oversees the operations and governance of the Library under the Library Act. Application details are available at cranbrookpubliclibrary.ca or at cranbrook.ca. Three positions available.
Key City Theatre Society
City council appoints one of the nine directors to the society’s board. The appointee provides regular updates to Council on the society’s operations. One position is available.
