Endowment Fund established for Key City Theatre
Key City Theatre Society President Landon Elliott is today (Feb. 19) pleased to announce the establishment of the Key City Theatre Legacy Fund.
The fund is made possible through a major gift from an anonymous donor who has generously stepped forward to support the theatre.
“This is an exciting day for the sustainability of performing arts in our region. The arts play a vital role in building a vibrant and creative community and donors such as this help to ensure that the legacy of Key City Theatre will live on for future generations,” said Elliott.
The fund has been permanently endowed with the Community Foundation of the Kootenay Rockies (CFKR) and the Vancouver Foundation. It will be utilized to support the operations and programming at the theatre and to ensure the continued success of this outstanding venue.
Key City Theatre Managing Director Galen Olstead added, “Holding this fund with the Community Foundation of the Kootenay Rockies – Vancouver Foundation, an organization that has a solid philanthropic investment reputation, gives our society the opportunity to present itself to the broader giving community.”

Key City Theatre is a registered charity. The Key City Theatre Society fosters appreciation of and community involvement in the arts. It operates a first-class performing arts, conference, and cultural centre for the people of the East Kootenay. The professional facility stimulates creativity, enhances communication and learning, and provides a comfortable setting for quality entertainment.
