Flushing program moving south of schools

The City of Cranbrook’s water flushing program operations are moving locations today, to south of both Parkland Middle School and Gordon Terrace Elementary School.

The area affected is from 1st Avenue South to 11th Avenue South between 15th Street South and 19th Street South. The flushing work in this area will not affect water quality at either Gordon Terrace or Parkland schools. Flushing work in this area is expected to take a week to complete.

Some customers may experience discolouration in the water for a short period while this flushing work is done. If you do have discolouration, please run your coldwater tap until the water runs clear. This discolouration is not a public health concern.

The annual flushing program is done each year to ensure water mains are clear of sediment in order to provide the best water quality possible to your home and business. The city will provide updates regularly so you know where the flushing program is moving to next. The city expects to have this work completed by late August.

The City of Cranbrook appreciates the patience and understanding of our residents and businesses as this important flushing program unfolds.
