Flushing program moving to city’s southwest

Operations with the City of Cranbrook’s annual water main flushing program will begin work in the city’s southwest starting late today (June 22).

Water customers living in the area between 1st Avenue South and 14th Avenue South from 2nd Street South to 16th Street South (see map below) may experience some discolouration in their water as the flushing work is completed.

If you do have discolouration, please run your cold water tap until the water runs clear. This discolouration is not a public health concern.

The annual flushing program is done each year to ensure water mains are clear of sediment to provide the best water quality possible to your home and business.

The city will provide updates regularly, so you know where the flushing program is moving to next.

The City of Cranbrook appreciates the patience and understanding of our residents and businesses as this important flushing program unfolds.
