Fort Steele remaining closed for time being
Fort Steele Heritage Town announced June 3 that it is staying closed for the time being due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
However, the historical attraction isn’t idle during this downtime.
“Although this was not an easy decision to make, the health, safety and experiences of our visitors and staff is of utmost importance,” Fort Steele noted on social media.
“In the meantime, we’ll be taking care of all sorts of business on the site. Fort Steele Heritage Town will reopen with building upgrades, site enhancements, fresh coats of paint, curatorial attention, and much more.
“We wish everyone a happy summer and look forward to welcoming visitors back when the time is right. If anything changes, we’ll let everyone know!”
