Give your feedback on Cranbrook’s draft OCP
The City of Cranbrook is inviting community members to give their feedback on the draft Official Community Plan (OCP), which will lay out a path for Cranbrook to 2042.
The new OCP has been drafted based on community input gathered over the past two years. Now, the city wants to hear feedback from community members on the key policies included in the OCP.
To have your say in the future of Cranbrook, review summaries of each key section of the OCP – or read the full draft OCP – and complete short surveys to provide your feedback.
These policies will guide growth and investment in housing, climate action, agriculture, arts and culture, parks and recreation, transportation and more.
The surveys are available at Cranbrook2042.ca. The deadline to complete the surveys is Sunday, December 3 at 11:59 p.m.
You’re also invited to join us at the Cranbrook Winter Market to learn more about the OCP and share your feedback in person.
The Winter Market takes place at Western Financial Place on:
- Saturday, November 25, 12 to 6 p.m.
• Sunday, November 26, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
About the OCP
An OCP guides the growth and development of a community. It provides direction and guidance on items relating to land use, transportation, housing, environment, infrastructure, parks, agriculture, economic development, arts and culture, and more to give shape and overall function to a municipality.
The city’s existing OCP was adopted in 2006, and Cranbrook has undergone significant change since then. It’s time to develop a new OCP that reflects the current needs of the community and guides its growth and development over the next 20 years.
Over the past two years, the city has engaged with the public to explore the community’s vision for the future and priorities for different aspects of the city. The input gathered through these public engagement initiatives has been used to develop the new Our Path to Cranbrook 2042 Official Community Plan.
