Iconic Canadian band coming to Cranbrook
With one of the most memorable voices in Canadian music history, alternative rock-folk band, the Crash Test Dummies are coming to Cranbrook in November.
The Crash Test Dummies are a three-time Grammy nominated and Juno award winning group, who soared to the top of the worldwide charts in the early 1990s with a multitude of unforgettable songs.
Songs like ‘The Battle of Peter Pumpkin Head, ‘Mmmm, Mmmm,’ ‘Superman’s Song,’ ‘Androgynous,’ and many more.
Pumpkin Head was a highlight of the soundtrack to the blockbuster film, Dumb and Dumber, while simultaneously reaching number four on the US Top 100 Album charts.
All of their releases keep the same folk based alternative spirit of their early sound centering around the distinct baritone of frontman Brad Roberts and Ellen Reid’s folk -rock infusion.
After a 20-year hiatus, the Crash Test Dummies reunited in 2018, just for a two-week tour to celebrate their most successful album “When God Shuffled his Feet.” The reaction to this has all lead to continuous touring across two continents, with sold out shows across the USA, Canada, the UK, Germany, Austria, and the Netherlands.
The band from Winnipeg is returning to the UK this fall for an extensive tour, followed by a West Coast of Canada swing to end 2026.
It’s this tour that will see them stop in Trail on Nov. 20 at the Bailey Theatre and in Cranbrook’s Key City Theatre on Nov. 21.
The dynamic and high energy stage show is performed by original members Brad Roberts, Ellen Reid, Dan Roberts, and Mitch Dorge. Joining them are long standing guitarist Stuart Cameron, and relative newcomer Leigh Fleming-Smith, Canada’s very own keyboard whiz-kid.
Being so close to the holiday season the tour is called Crash Test Dummies -Jingle All the Way and features all of their biggest hits interspersed with seasonal favourites done in the famous CTD style. This show promises to be the fun Xmas show of the Year.
