It’s the principle of the matter

Letter to the Editor

I emailed the City of Cranbrook regarding the canceled Blind Melon concert, and the service charges that were not refunded. I realize it’s a small amount, but it’s the principle of the matter to me.

I think if you purchased tickets, and were also not refunded the service charges, you should email or call the city as well. Their contact information can be found on their FB page.

What I emailed them:

I’m looking to get refunded for the service charges the City of Cranbrook charged for the cancelled Blind Melon concert. While I understand why these are implemented in events the city brings to Cranbrook, I don’t think it’s right to put the cost of the cancelled concert upon the consumer.

I feel strongly that the cost of the cancellation of this concert needs to be undertaken by the City of Cranbrook. Whether you take it as a loss, or you choose to pursue the artist manager / booking agent you chose to do business with in this instance is something for you to consider. But I would like my $3 service charges refunded. I shouldn’t have to pay any amount for an event that through no fault of my own I can no longer attend, was cancelled the same day I purchased the tickets, and that I had to wait six days to be refunded.

Tara Pfaff,

Cranbrook
