Cranbrook’s Jaimee Spring helped Team B.C. pull out a 3-2 overtime victory on Saturday to win Gold in the 2021 Western Canadian Regional Women’s U18 Hockey Championship.

Team B.C. entered the third period down 2-1 to a talented Team Alberta but managed to tie things up midway through the frame on a goal that was assisted by Spring.

The 2-2 deadlock was taken into a fast paced three-on-three overtime where a breakaway goal by Dawson Creek’s Hailey Armstrong gave B.C. the Championship.

Final results… B.C. with Gold; Alberta – Silver; Saskatchewan – Bronze.
