JCI Fun Run is coming up colourful

Organizers are gearing up for the JCI Kootenay Fun Run on Sunday, June 3 at Moir Park in Cranbrook.

JCI Kootenay’s James Farnan says this year’s event can be summed up in one word… colourful.

“We’re adding some exciting features that will really play into the ‘colour’ theme of the event.”

Organizers are encouraging all participants get as colourful as they can during the run. There will be colour blasts at the start of the race and along the route, the most colourful person will also go home with a Stay and Play package for two at Fairmont Hot Springs Resort.

In addition, a trophy and annual bragging rights will once again be on offer for the top corporate team.

Once the races are over, there will be post race refreshments courtesy of Save On Foods, plus plenty of fun with bouncy castles, a photo booth, kids races and delicious food from Flippin’ Crepes, Mama’s Dumplings and Happy Cow Ice Cream.

In continuing with the tradition set by the event’s former organizers, JCI Kootenay will be donating part proceeds from the JCI Kootenay Fun Run to the ALS Society of BC. There will also be an opportunity to donate further to the cause throughout the event.

“ALS is a devastating disease and we are proud to once again be partnering with the ALS Society of BC in support of those affected by the disease,” Farnan said.

The JCI Kootenay Fun Run kicks off at 9 a.m. sharp at Moir Park in Cranbrook. However, participants are encouraged to come out early to take advantage of pre-race activities.

Registration will remain open up until the day of the event. Visit www.zone4.ca and search for JCI Kootenay Fun Run to sign up. Registration pickup will take place at Western Financial Place on Saturday June 2 from 9:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
