July!
Summertime!
Sunshine!
What a treat… long hot bluebird days and lots of lakes, creeks and rivers to cool off and play in!
Here are some sights I saw this month with my pup Luigi in tow. July has passed all too quickly it seems.
The boat is at the Wasa dump. Cause ya just never know what you’ll find at ‘Wasa Wal-mart’! Or whom you’ll meet!
Fairmont’s Hoodoos. Simply put, they always look picturesque to me.
I had too much fun with the reflections by Canal Flats. Such perfect shooting conditions – sunshine and no wind… reflections galore!
I got a chance to visit the Brothers Insurance Car Show at Cranbrook’s Western Financial Place parking lot and learned that there are a lot of collectors of cool cars and trucks in the Koots!
I know little about cars, but I sure do love the colors, the shine and shapes of the cars. It was a perfect way to spend a +36 degree July day.
The Blues Brothers Too were also on hand entertaining the crowds with music, witty banter and The Bluesmobile.
There was also Canada Day to start the month off right (lead image)!
Cameron Pond at magic hour; the hour or so before sunset when everything has that magical glow.
The Ponderosa/Bull pine in our yard that was hit by lightning last year; the sprinkler; icy beverage; Heat wave temperature in the shade; Lying in the cool grass looking up at my dill weed.
There are five images from Lazy Lake during the heat wave; dogs, cliff diving and summer love.
Another three were at Premier Lake; I love the water!
There were some stunning sunsets and skies over the Purcells and a glowing Lady’s Leg on the Rockies side, watching over Wasa. The Lady’s Leg is always the last to lose all the snow in it’s deep valley.
They have a pool at the Wasa Pub to see who can guess which day it will be completely melted. This usually happens mid August and then the snows return to that valley just a few weeks later.
A big old grasshopper on my screen! He is huge!
And five images are from Wasa Fun Days, July 29 this year, and it was a hot one. A super great way to kick off the summer, see old friends and make some new ones!
There was a pancake breakfast, a garage sale, a market with local goods and artists, and entertainment on stage all day long.
Bocci and the beer gardens in the afternoon and early evening with dogs and burgers on the barbie. YUM!
A big shout out and THANK YOU to the Wasa Lions Club and Christian Veregan who helped organize, run events and coordinate volunteers!
* Wasa hosts a pancake breakfast every Saturday in the summer from 9-11:30 a.m. It is an easy and inexpensive way to feed the troops before setting off on summer adventures! Follow the signs!
These little girls were totally transfixed and entertained by the fishing hole! They were so sweet!
They had fishing poles/strings with magnets and, much to their delight, caught the metal fish.
