Our Lady Peace, Matthew Good coming to WFP

After several opening dates for Guns n Roses, seminal Canadian band Our Lady Peace strikes out across the country with a new album and a new tour.

Our Lady Peace has never been to Cranbrook, and they arrive in grand fashion, with Matthew Good opening on Saturday, March 24, (2018) at 7:30 p.m. at Western Financial Place.

Our Lady Peace (sometimes shortened to OLP) is one of the greatest Canadian rock bands to grace Canadian stages, arenas, and radio. Formed in Toronto, Ontario in 1992, by lead vocalist Raine Maida, the band has sold millions of albums worldwide, won four Juno Awards, and 10 MuchMusic Video Awards — the most MMVAs ever awarded to any artist or group.

They have released eight studio albums, one live album, and two compilation albums to date, with their 1997 album Clumsy often being considered their signature and most widely recognized work. Our Lady Peace enjoyed many hit singles, ranging from ‘Starseed’ in 1994 to ‘Somewhere Out There’ in 2002.

The band’s earlier albums are often praised for their unique sound and style, with lead singer Maida being called “erratic” and “truly unrivalled” as a vocalist.

Their new work ‘Somethingness’ has been released in two parts, with part one last summer and part two last week.

Adding to the night of Canadian rock anthology, is Matthew Good, who will also be hot on the heels of a new studio album ‘ Something Like A Storm.’ Canadian singer/songwriter Matthew Good rose to prominence in the mid-’90s fronting the popular alt-rock group Matthew Good Band. A crafty songwriter with a strong melodic sense and a somewhat brash outspokenness, Good led MGB to Juno-winning, double-platinum status over the course of four albums with songs like ‘Load Me Up,’ ‘Apparitions,’ and ‘Hello Time Bomb.’

With two bands already on the playbill, expect more special guests to join the line up
