MBSS students evacuated after lock down
Mount Baker Secondary School (MBSS) students and staff have been evacuated after a lockdown was initiated at the Cranbrook school this morning.
MBSS Principal Aaron Thorn shared an update email with parents that noted: “Mount Baker Secondary students and staff are being relocated from the muster point at Safeway to the gymnasium at Laurie Middle School.
“Parents and guardians may pick up students from Laurie Middle School. Students who are not picked up may remain at Laurie Middle School with staff.
“Vehicles left at Mount Baker Secondary School can be picked up at a later time.
“Thank you for your patience and cooperation,” Thorn said, adding, “Students are safe and staff is with them. Once we have more information we will share it out with families.
“Please do not come to the building for cars or possessions, the school is locked and RCMP are on site.”
