Mountain Films for two nights at Key City Theatre

The Banff Centre Mountain Film and Book Festival is the largest, and one of the most prestigious, mountain festivals in the world. Hot on the heels of the festival held every fall in Banff, the World Tour hits the road.

With stops planned in over 550 communities and more than 40 countries across the globe, this year’s tour features a collection of the most inspiring action, environmental and adventure films from the festival.

The local film selection team has been busy making sure the film choices for the Cranbrook event suit the local audiences’ tastes, and their efforts have paid off. This year’s lineup boasts films with impressive cinematography and deep story lines – some that will leave the audience belly laughing and even shedding a few heartfelt tears.

The event is a major fundraiser for local non-profit environmental group Wildsight, and local Branch Manager Andrea Chapman finds it easy to beam when she describes the 100% volunteer efforts that make this event a reality. “It is impressive that the Banff volunteer committee has been pulling off this event for 25 years now! They are a well-oiled machine – that crew, and our organization is privileged to raise funds from such a well-loved celebration of mountain culture.”

Join Wildsight when Banff Centre Mountain Film Festival World Tour brings the spirit of outdoor adventure to Cranbrook’s Key City Theatre for two unique nights, on Friday, January 4, and Saturday, Jan. 5, starting at 7 p.m. both nights.

Tickets can be purchased through the Key City Theatre Box Office online, over the phone, or in person.
