New beginnings for 2020 at Cranbrook Arts

January sees the beginning of Cranbrook Arts’ new programming to take place in their freshly renovated art space at 1401 5th St N.

Their full Winter Activity Guide can be found on their Facebook and webpages or a printed copy can be picked up at the Gift Shop at 1013 Baker St.

The Monday painters’ group will convene for camaraderie and self-critique beginning with the January 6 meeting from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Art After School and Basic Drawing Skills classes begin Tuesday January 7. Tara Mercer will run the first Saturday workshop of the year with Gelli Journals on January 11. Tara will teach some new print techniques and inspire more uses for your art work.

Upcoming classes through January include our new program for Tots, on Tuesday mornings, Scrapbooking and Papercrafts on Wednesday afternoons, Needle Felting and a series of beginner Watercolour classes.

The Gift Shop and gallery are closed from December 30 ‘til January 7 for the annual paint and refresh. Artists are reminded to set up a time with Leya to bring in their new inventory. After such a successful December we need and look forward to new items as we see many tourists during the winter months searching for local artwork.  Registration for classes during this week of closure can be done through Eventbrite on our social media pages or by leaving an email message with call back number.
