Over 340 signed up for Summer Reading Club
It only took a few days for Summer Reading Club Coordinator Kenzie Fulton to realize that 2026 might be the year that Cranbrook Public Library has a record-breaking year of young readers signed up for the Summer Reading Club and summer has only just begun!
“Already we have over 340 kids signed up, and I’m expecting lots more, especially when the theme for Summer Reading Club is ‘Under the Sea’! We’ve made fun sea creature decorations and hung them all over the library and have planned a summer jam packed of events for kids,” she said.
This summer expect events like weekly storytime, take home crafts, Drop in Lego, movie afternoons, mini golf, Teddy Bear Sleepovers, colouring contests plus special events with community guests.
Most of these events do not require registration, and all are free to attend.
Summer Reading Club logs are available at the library and participants receive prizes for how many books or how long they read depending on the age and reading level of the child. Every child up to the age of 18 can sign up for Summer Reading Club and every child can sign up for a free library card.
Summer Reading Club runs until the end of August and there isn’t a deadline to sign up
