Publishers Clearing House not coming to area
Contrary to phone calls that Cranbrook residents have been receiving, Publishers Clearing House is not coming to a city near you.
Cranbrook RCMP has received calls from residents advising that people claiming to be from this “lottery” have been calling and advising that people have won $200,000.
The caller was able to provide the “recipient” with their address, but then claims they need their banking information to complete the winning details.
“No reputable lottery is going to call ‘winners’ and ask for their banking information in order to claim the win,” stated Cst. Katie Forgeron. “We want to remind people not to release any banking information to anyone over the phone.”
If you are unsure if the caller is legitimate, it is wiser to err on the side of caution and not divulge any information.
