RCMP seek vehicle involved in hit and run

Cranbrook RCMP is seeking assistance from the public in locating a vehicle and driver involved in a hit and run.

On July 1, at around 6:45 p.m., a police officer was flagged down on Ridgeview Road and Willowbrook Drive and advised of a hit and run which had just occurred.  A white Toyota Corolla did not stop at the stop sign and collided with another vehicle.

The Corolla stopped briefly but then left the scene at a high rate of speed without providing any information to the other driver.

At the time the Corolla had B.C. license plate EE6 57M, which was later determined to be stolen.  The driver appeared to be female.

An occupant of the vehicle that was struck was able to get a photo of the suspect vehicle before it took off.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Cranbrook RCMP at 250-489-3471 or Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
