Sam Steele Days is underway
With a couple of pancake breakfasts already concluded and a couple of barbecue lunches about to start, Sam Steele Days 2017 is hitting full stride in Cranbrook.
You have a pair of options today (Friday, June 16) for lunch. There is the Home Depot/Street Angels Community BBQ from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Home Depot (2000 McPhee Road) and the East Kootenay Realty BBQ at 25 – 10th Ave. S from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Be sure to have your Sam Steele button or risk landing in jail!
When work is done for the day – why not head on down to the Sam Steele Days Friday Central Fairgrounds (Balment Park) for a “Festival-Friday-Beverage” and some exceptional entertainment! Unique activities, delicious food and great music await with DJ Jeremy of jaxAUDIO, from 4 to 8 p.m.
While there consider checking out the Wicked Weenies Eating Contest at the Molson Coors Friday Festival Beer Gardens beside Western Financial Place, from 5 to 6 p.m., followed by the Bedroom Charity Bed Race (6 to 8 p.m.).
Tickets are still available for this evening’s EDM show Electric Steele, starting at 7 p.m. at Western Financial Place.
Also this evening is the Sweetheart Youth Ambassador Pageant at Key City Theatre, starting at 7:30 p.m.
Saturday will be another busy and fun Sam Steele Days, beginning with three pancake breakfasts, sports tourneys in every corner of Cranbrook and the annual St. Eugene Golf Resort and Casino Sam Steele Days Grand Parade. Note the parade route is different this year.
