Species at Risk visits Ktunaxa Nation
Species at Risk, a travelling exhibition about endangered species from the Royal BC Museum, is visiting Cranbrook for the first time.
To accompany the exhibition, the Ktunaxa Nation is presenting information communicating the Ktunaxa concept of ‘All Living Things’ (akxamis qapi qapsin) and Ktunaxa stewardship principles.
Species at Risk delivers essential information on B.C.’s at-risk flora and fauna to the doorsteps of communities around the province via an inventively modified exhibition trailer and two interpreters. It was produced in-house at the Royal BC Museum, with support from The Government of Canada, TELUS, The Robert Bateman Centre, the John and Joan Innovation Fund, and Quality Foods. Viewing the exhibition is free of charge.
The Ktunaxa Nation Government Building is hosting the travelling exhibition from August 8 to 12 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day.
In addition to the exhibit, Dr. Gavin Hanke, Curator of Vertebrate Zoology at the Royal BC Museum will be onsite on Tuesday, August 9 to speak to the public and answer questions.
