Spirit of the Rockies is this weekend
Spirit of the Rockies Festival – Celebrating Unbreakable spirit, 20 years of Strongman – is almost here!
There is something for everyone over the four-day community celebration. Barbecues and pancakes from great organizations like Tamarack Centre, Royal Lepage, Friends of the Library, Ktunaxa Nation, Joseph Creek Retirement home, Morchella Market or The Girl Guides of Canada or one of the many activities at the Western Financial Group’s Central Fairgrounds.
Activities at the Central Fairgrounds include the much-loved Strongman Competition brought to you by Fitness Inc, The Meant 2B Loved Wiener Races, Terus Construction Inflatable Funland, Spring Honda’s Festival Tastes, Manitoulin Transport Market, or the Total Pet/ Pet Valu entertainment stages.
Check out a bocce game or better yet enter your team in the Terus Construction’s Spirit of the Balls Bocce Tournament and enjoy a cold one at the Tamarack Centre’s Refreshment Gardens.
After the market why not take the family roller skating at the Kinsmen Arena.
Take in a game at the Rockies Royale Slo-pitch Ball Tournament or beach volleyball at the College of the Rockies.
Friday night will be the Sweetheart Ambassador showcase at the Key City Theatre.
Round things out on Sunday with the community worship and pancake breakfast at Western Financial Place, the pancake breakfast at Dash Eatery, the Cranbrook Farmer’s Market or the Cranbrook Firefighters Fishing Clinic.
Don’t forget the COOP Family movie night: Grab your blankets or chairs and popcorn and watch a classic movie at the Cranbrook Curling Rink.
As well as the St. Eugene Resort Grand Parade: Don’t miss the Gem of the festival, a colourful parade with floats, bands, dancers and more. The parade starts at 11th Avenue and ends at Rotary Park with recently retired Corporal Westy, our honourary parade marshal.
