Take part in Coldest Night and help the less fortunate
Have you heard about Coldest Night of the Year (CNOY) on Feb. 22?
CNOY is a walk/fundraiser hosted by Canadian Mental Health Association for the Kootenays in partnership with the Cranbrook Salvation Army to help those who are hungry, homeless and hurting. Our goal is to raise at least $20,000.
At the time of this article, 38 walkers and 12 volunteers have registered and we are asking for your support in this worthy cause.
The Days Inn & Conference Centre Cranbrook has been so generous in providing CNOY with the space to start and end the WALK and will be providing the warm meal for all volunteers and walkers.
While being new to Cranbrook, Berry Architecture & Associates believe in the work and services that CMHA Kootenays provides and is our lead sponsor in supporting this event.
CNOY would also like to thank Tim Hortons, Cranbrook Alliance Church and Miles, Zimmer and Associates as rest stop sponsors and Rella Paolini Rogers is our event sponsor and our distance sponsors Denham Ford (BC) Ltd, K-Country Homes, 7-Eleven and Re/Max Blue Sky Realty.
On Feb. 22, after the official opening ceremonies, Key City Zumba will lead all walkers in a warm- up. Walkers will then walk to The Heid Out Restaurant for a short break, snack and a warm beverage and then will continue on the route for either 2.5km or five km, returning to The Days Inn & Conference Centre Cranbrook for a warm bowl of soup.
Our wonderful media sponsors, e- KNOW, B104 Total Country, 102.9FM The Drive, Cranbrook Townsman, and 2DayFM are supporting the event by informing their readers and listeners about CNOY and how to get involved.

We ask all Cranbrook, Kimberley and surrounding area residents to get involved and support the Coldest Night of the Year Cranbrook on Feb. 22.
