Starting the week of July 6, contractors will begin mobilizing on site at Western Financial Place ahead of the start of construction of the new Childcare Facility project.

As a result of this construction project, a portion of the parking lot will be closed as the area will become an active construction zone.

The parking entrance, located off 17th Avenue North, will be closed for the duration of the project work.

Some parking spaces along the ramp area at the south end of Western Financial Place will remain open.

Users of Western Financial Place are asked to please use the entrances off of 2nd Street North, as the remainder of the parking lot will be open and accessible. Any accessible parking spaces taken out of use due to this construction work will be added to the front of Western Financial Place off 2nd Street North.

This temporary parking change will remain in place until mid-2027 once the Childcare Facility project is complete.

There will also be a period this summer when this section of 17th Avenue North will be closed to traffic as the installation of water, sewer and storm sewer for the Childcare Facility project will happen.

The dates of this work are still being organized, but once those dates are confirmed that information will be shared publicly well in advance.
