Temporary Victoria Avenue traffic changes for tie-ins
Beginning on Monday, September 14, a portion of Victoria Avenue between 8th Street North and Kootenay Street will be reduced to two lanes for a three-week period to allow for the tie in of water, sewer, and storm sewer infrastructure for a new apartment build at 2000 8th Street North.
This project, being developed by Colbrook Properties, is to be a five-storey, 49-unit housing project for independent seniors.
These temporary traffic changes will be in effect 24/7 for the next three weeks. Please watch for, follow and obey all signage in place and any directions from traffic control personnel while travelling through this portion of Victoria Avenue. Construction is just one of the many activities involving roadside worksites.
Please slow down and watch for roadside workers. Drivers are encouraged to detour around this area wherever possible.
There will be two consecutive overnights toward the end of this three-week period when Victoria Avenue will be completely closed to all traffic to allow for necessary paving work to return the street to normal.
Those dates have not been confirmed yet. We will share information ahead of these dates well in advance.
We appreciate the patience and understanding of our local drivers, residents, and businesses around this project site while this work is completed.
