On behalf of the Cranbrook Age Friendly Advisory Committee, a working group of Seniors in Partnership committee, which is a standing committee of the United Way East Kootenay and the City of Cranbrook, I would like to thank everyone who has completed the Age Friendly Community Assessment survey.

To date we have received close to 700 completed surveys. Great Job!

If you have completed a survey, please encourage your friends and family members to do so today or If you have not completed the survey yet, please go to our website www.cranbrookagefriendly.ca and use the link to fill out the survey. Paper forms are also available by contacting Charlene at 1-250-919-3244.

What are the next steps for the Cranbrook Age Friendly Advisory Committee? We will be closing off the survey Sept. 7. After the survey closure the Age Friendly Committee, with the assistance of BC Healthy Communities will begin to work on the formulation of a report derived from the survey data.

The report will be shared with the community and will form the basis for the development of the Age Friendly Community Action Plan. The Action Plan will be completed by year-end and will be a living document that will outline a list of items the community should accomplish to ensure the City of Cranbrook is Age Friendly and ready for the future.

Again, a big thanks to all who have taken part in this community-based planning initiative.
