Traffic pattern changing on Victoria Avenue Sept. 5
Sanitary sewer trunk construction continues
Changes to the traffic pattern on Victoria Avenue are set to take effect starting Friday, September 5 as Phase 1 of the Victoria Avenue Sanitary Sewer Trunk reconstruction project continues.
Traffic flow will remain reduced to a single lane in each direction; however, drivers will now use the right-hand, outside lanes.
Please slow down and follow the direction of any signage in place through the construction zone for the safety of roadside workers.
The city encourages drivers to continue to avoid this area, if possible, to help reduce traffic congestion, allow for the smooth flow of emergency vehicles, and ensure a safe worksite for crews.
Please remember that the intersection of Victoria Avenue and 2nd Street North will remain temporarily a four-way stop, but will return to its usual signalized operation soon.
The project contractor, Copcan Civil LP, is overseeing this significant infrastructure upgrade which includes replacing the sanitary sewer trunk main between 2nd Street North and 6th Street North to address existing capacity concerns.
The project will also include upgrades to watermains and full width paving along this section of Victoria Avenue, and is expected to wrap up by late October 2025.
