Trail access to be interrupted for maintenance

The impact of the current snowfall aside, access to the NorthStar Rails-to-Trails will be restricted for the next week.

Maintenance will be taking place on the Rails-to-Trails beginning Wednesday, November 16 and lasting for about one week. The trail will be closed for extended periods during this time.

The maintenance work will be happening about 2.5 km southeast of the bridge over the St. Mary’s River, as crews will be making improvements to the retaining walls along the trail. Machinery will access the site from the Wycliffe parking lot next to River’s Crossing.

The cities Cranbrook and Kimberley appreciate the patience and understanding of trail users while this work is being completed.
