Vehicle theft leads to drugs and stolen property
Acting on a suspected stolen vehicle tip led to arrests for stolen property and suspected meth and heroin.
On July 9, Cranbrook RCMP’s Crime Reduction Unit executed a search warrant at a residence in the 700 Block of Patterson St W after receiving a tip from the public.
Police became aware of a possible stolen vehicle in early July. After tips from the public, the vehicle was located at a residence and a search warrant was issued by the courts.
Several stolen items were located inside including jewelry, ammunition and drug paraphernalia. Suspected meth and heroin were also located at the residence.
Three people were arrested at the residence. Cranbrook RCMP are requesting charges of possession of a scheduled substance for a 43-year-old male, possess stolen property against a 33-year-old female and possess property obtained by crime, possess ammunition without a license and fail to comply with undertaking against a 35-year-old male. All three are residents of Cranbrook.
