East Kootenay Foundation for Health (EKFH) is pleased to announce one of the final gifts to our MRI: An Image of Health campaign of $10,000 from Western Financial Group.

This gift helped our Starlite campaign reach a record level of over $575,000 towards the MRI. We could not have reached this milestone without the generosity of community minded businesses like Western Financial Group.

Tracy Thorn, Western Financial Group’s Cranbrook Tamarack Manager expressed, “We are so thrilled to be able to support our local healthcare by helping bring a permanent MRI to the East Kootenay. The benefit of the MRI will be felt by all the communities throughout the entire region.”

Western Financial Group gives back to communities throughout Western Canada through the Western Communities Foundation. Since its inception, the Western Communities Foundation has raised more than $2 million to help support local communities through infrastructure grants and student bursaries.

“We can’t thank the staff at Western Financial Group enough for seeing the need for the MRI and bringing this to the attention of the Western Communities Foundation. It is because of the philanthropic nature of amazing community members that we were able to reach our goal so quickly,” said Cassandra Schwarz, Executive Director EKFH.
