Wheeldon’s wrath hits buttonless city councillor
Sam Steele Days Funtastic Friday is about delicious food, exceptional entertainment and spectacular team sports!
An annual staple of Sam Steele Days is the Royal LePage Mounted Police (RLMP) barbecue held on 10th Avenue South.
Close to Cranbrook City Hall, the barbecue tends to attract city dignitaries and mucky-mucks and with his usual zeal and aplomb Chief Inspector Jason Wheeldon was ready to pounce on unwary civic officials who fail to wear Sam Steele Days buttons.
This year Coun. Wesly Graham (pictured above) was nabbed by the Chief Inspector before he could purchase a button and landed in the sidewalk hoosgow. Pictured below, CI Wheeldon informs another unlucky duo about their Sam Steele Days bylaw breaking boo boo – that being buttonless and at the barbecue.
The fundraising barbecue was once again well attended.
This evening is the crowning of the new Princess and Sweetheart of Sam Steele at Key City Theatre.
Sam Steele Days will be rolling all weekend across Cranbrook. Have a fun and safe weekend everyone!
