Wildstone hosting Golf For Kids Sake July 6

Proceeds of fun-filled charity golf tournament support Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cranbrook mentorship programming

There is still time to register a team for the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cranbrook Golf For Kids Sake fundraiser, taking place Friday, July 6, 2 p.m., at Wildstone Golf Course.

“Kick-off your weekend a bit early and join us for a round of golf on an award-winning course, all for a good cause,” said Jordan MacDonald, Executive Director of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cranbrook. “Our goal with this event is to not only raise money and awareness in support of our mentorship programming, but to offer our community an enjoyable and worthwhile networking event that is eagerly anticipated year after year.”

The cost of a four-person golf team entry is $400 (or $100 for individual golfers) and includes 18 holes of golf, cart rental, dinner, and a chance to win great prizes.  Dinner will be a “cocktail cook-out” format with a fun and informal atmosphere where people can socialize, enjoy spirits and draft beers, and eat quality catered grab-and-gab food. Golf For Kids Sake is being generously presented by Denham Ford.

Teams and individuals can register for Golf For Kids Sake in person at Denham Ford, Wildstone Golf Course, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cranbrook or online at https://wildstone-golf.myshopify.com.

“Denham Ford is committed to supporting our community on many levels. We are passionate about ensuring children and youth have opportunities to connect with positive role models and healthy life experiences that will help develop leadership and strong character,” said Rene Kowalchuk, General Manager of Denham Ford. “Denham Ford is proud to present Golf For Kids Sake and we encourage members of our business community to play hooky for the Friday afternoon of July 6 and join us for a good time on the links.”

“By every measure, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cranbrook returns positive results in the mental health, employment and civic engagement of the recipients of our mentoring programs,” said MacDonald. “Our programs are provided free of charge to families and children. Monies raised through charity events help ensure the organization has an increased ability to match children and youth with volunteers in safe, long-term mentoring relationships quicker and more effectively.”

Wildstone Golf Course is the first Black Knight Design by Gary Player Design in Canada.

The highly-acclaimed course has become a local fan favourite and a “must play” for visiting golf enthusiasts.

“Wildstone Golf Course is very excited to host a fun fundraiser in support of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cranbrook. We hope the community comes out for great afternoon of golf and to support such an important local non-profit,” said Chris Andrews, General Manager of Wildstone Golf Course.
